Wellbeing
At our school, wellbeing and learning are interconnected and essential to student success. We aim to ensure every student feels safe, included, and ready to learn. In line with the NSW Wellbeing Framework, we provide supportive and inclusive environments where students can develop the skills they need to thrive. Whether a child requires support for their mental, emotional, social, or physical wellbeing, we work in partnership with families and support services to promote positive development and lifelong wellbeing.
How we support student wellbeing
Supporting each student’s mental, emotional, social and physical wellbeing is part of everyday school life.
We do this through:
- breakfast and Special lunch programs
- Outdoor learning programs
- Cultural camps and excursions
- student-nominated support person for every student
- Aboriginal Education Officers (Primary and Preschool)
- on-site community events
- River days (community connections to important local sites)
- teachers who help students feel welcome and included
- access to school counsellors, school psychologists and specialist staff
- programs that support health, social skills, attendance and positive behaviour e.g.- Royal Flying Doctors nurse and dental visits
- help for students who are new or changing year levels
- clear expectations for behaviour and respectful relationships
- staff who get to know each child and work closely with families
- developing health care plans for students
- open communication about wellbeing and support
